Our Story

Our CEO, Hughena Brennan came to Kingston in 2013 to teach as a lecturer at Queen’s University School of Business- and fell in love with the lifestyle, history, and culture that Kingston possesses. Hughena, who has a tech background, and her spouse Clinton Culic, a senior litigator, always wanted to start a company with a software that would allow customers to access legal services from the comfort of their homes. When COVID-19 appeared and lockdowns ensued, Hughena and Clint decided this was the opportunity to establish a Law office that does just that, and Veritasa Law was born.

Clinton Harrison Culic, J.D. - Senior Lawyer

Clinton Harrison Culic has over 42 years of experience as a lawyer and is highly respected at his practice of Culic Law in Brockville. He is well known for his fearless advocacy of justice for the underdog. His education includes a Juris Doctor (Doctor of Law) from Osgoode Hall School of Law, from which he graduated in 1977.

Clinton knew he wanted to pursue law from an early age and was accepted into Osgoode Hall Law School through their early acceptance program after only two years of undergraduate study at the University of Toronto (1972-1974). Since being called to the Bar in 1979 Clinton has won seven landmark cases that either established the law or set new law for the Province. Mr. Culic was the past president of the Law Association of Leeds & Grenville Counties and is currently on the board of advisors for Chicago Title Insurance. He is also recognized as a real estate title repair expert by the Governing Law body of Ontario.

When Clinton is not practicing Law, he enjoys building computers for his offices, friends and family.

Hughena Brennan, MBA- CEO

Born in Come by Chance, Newfoundland, Hughena moved to a small town in Eastern Ontario at an early age. She always keeps her heritage close at heart and strongly believes in being honest, helpful and hardworking, while also contributing to the community. It is these beliefs that are the very fiber of Veritasa Law.

Leveraging Hughena’s 40+ year career in strategy and execution, Hughena decided to launch Veritasa Law to utilize her expertise in technology. Concurrently she is the Chief Operating Officer at Culic Law since 2016, which is Ontario’s third oldest law firm. Hughena also was a lecturer at Queen’s University teaching how to Maximize Business Value with technology.

Hughena earned her MBA from Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario, and holds her Executive Professional Logistician designation.
